چکیده

This review paper compiles research related to debris flows and hyperconcentrated in the central Andes (30°–33° S), updating knowledge of these phenomena this semiarid region. Continuous records are lacking through Andean region; intense precipitations, sudden snowmelt, increased temperatures on high relief mountain areas, permafrost degradation violent flow discharges. Documented catastrophic consequences geoclimatic events highlight need improve their understanding order prepare communities for latent danger. An amplified impact is expected not only due environmental changes potentially linked climate change but also rising exposure urban expansion toward more susceptible or unstable areas. highlights as well implementation preventive measures reduce negative impacts vulnerability global warming context.

Flood risk zoning due to climate change under RCP 8.5 scenario using hydrologic model SWAT in Gis (Azarshahr basin)

In the present time, with the increase of industrial activities and the neglected environmental issues, the effects of climate change have become more evident and poses this phenomenon as a global difficult. Increasing the probability of occurrence of extreme climatic events such as flood and increasing the frequency and intensity of the effects of climate change. The northwest of the country i...

Deglaciation and Holocene climate change in the western Peruvian Andes

Pollen, charcoal, magnetic susceptibility, and bulk density data provide the first paleoecological record spanning the last 33,000 years from the western cordillera of the Peruvian Andes. Sparse super-puna vegetation existed before 30,000 cal yr B.P. around Lake Compuerta (3950 m elevation), prior to a sedimentary hiatus that lasted until c. 16,200 cal yr B.P. When sedimentation resumed, a glac...

Boulder Streams, Debris Fans, and Pleistocene Climate Change in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Central Virginia

The west slope of the Blue Ridge mountains in central Virginia is a polygenetic landscape containing interglacial and periglacial features. This paper proposes a general model relating the distribution and origin of hillslope and toeslope Quaternary landforms to climatically influenced geomorphic processes. Two generations of interglacial debris fans in the study area differ in their degree of ...

Predicting the impact of climate change on the distribution of Pistacia atlantica in the Central Zagros

Predicting the potential distribution of plants in response to climate change is essential for their conservation and management. This study aimed at predicting the effect of climate change on the geographical distribution of Pistacia atlantica in Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari province in the central Zagros region. In this study, we used 19 Bioclimatic variables derived from rainfall and temperature ...
